Some people grow up dreaming of faraway places. For me, it was always Australia.
I was born in Brazil, and from about the age of six I became completely obsessed with a country I'd never been to. My bedroom wall had a massive Australian flag. Had crocodiles, koalas and snake toys. I watched every wildlife documentary I could find. Australia felt like the most extraordinary place on earth, unlike anywhere else.
What I never could have imagined back then was that one day I'd actually live there. Not just live there, but work professionally as a snake catcher, getting hands on with the very animals I'd only ever seen on television as a kid.
The West Macs, Uluru, Outback Queensland, Remote tracks where I've found thorny devils sitting in the middle of the road and geckos sleeping in the spinifex. I've also had trips where I've seen nothing, broken down in the middle of nowhere, and had to fly home defeated. I've been through it all for these animals.
This collection isn't just four designs. It's a vision I've been carrying since I was six years old, something that once felt like an impossibly far away dream, and somehow became real.
Every piece in the Australian Wildlife Series is drawn from that obsession. From that kid in Brazil with the Australian flag on his wall.
